ITI in Draughtsman (Mechanical) Course Syllabus

ITI in Draughtsman (Mechanical) is a vocational trade course approved by the Directorate General of Training (DGT), Government of India. This course is related to machinery, robotics, and other Mechanical devices in industries such as manufacturing. It is a mechanical drawing field which is a Technical drawing based on Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. At the time of study, the students get academic and practical classes from highly qualified teaching staff.

ITI in Draughtsman (Mechanical) Syllabus

ITI in Draughtsman (Mechanical) is a 2-year course with semesters which cover knowledge and skills of mechanical drawing through Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. Following topics will be covered in the course of Draughtsman (Mechanical):-

  • Machine Tools:- It is a machine that holds or machining metal and rigid materials, usually by boring, cutting, grinding, shearing, or other forms of deformation.
  • Dies, Moulds, and Press Tools:- These tools are required at the time of shaping the product. Dies tools are used to shape sheet metal and other metal forms and on the other hand molds are used in injection molding such as with melted resin or casting molten metal.
  • Plastics Manufacturing Machinery:- This technology has been widely used in the production of various types of high-tech products, such as auto parts, connectors, displays, 3C electronic products, mobile phones, plastic optical lenses, etc.
  • Textile Manufacturing Machinery:- Textile machines are used for various types of operations at various stages of the production work, such as weaving, yarn spinning, knitting, sewing, and dyeing.
  • Electrical and Power Machinery:- It is a device which converts mechanical energy into electrical energy or vice versa.
  • Light Engineering Goods:- It includes shoes, clothes, furniture, consumer electronics & home appliances. Conversely, ship building would fall under heavy industry.
