Air India to Unveil New Colors and Logo as Part of Rebranding Effort

Air India is poised for a major rebranding, set to take place today, 10th August, signaling a significant shift in the airline's identity. This transformation includes the unveiling of a new livery, logo, and color scheme, marking a departure from its current branding. The rebranding event will be attended by key executives from the Tata Group, which owns the airline.

The iconic red swan logo featuring the orange Konark Chakra is set to be replaced with a fresh design that incorporates a new color palette of red, white, and purple. Red and white will maintain Air India’s legacy colors, while purple draws inspiration from Vistara Airlines, another Tata Group airline. This suggests that Vistara may soon merge with Air India, strengthening the ties between the two carriers under the Tata Group umbrella.

Air India's CEO, Campbell Wilson, had earlier hinted that this rebranding initiative would involve more than just a new logo and colors. The airline plans to introduce a range of enhancements, including a new color scheme, upgraded cabin interiors, redesigned crew uniforms, and a refreshed insignia. The beloved Maharajah mascot, an iconic symbol of Air India, will also play a prominent role in the rebranding, representing the airline’s commitment to honoring its rich heritage while embracing a modern, forward-looking identity. These changes reflect Air India's efforts to position itself as a more competitive, global airline while retaining its legacy and cultural significance.
