B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Eligibility Criteria

The candidates, who are looking forward to pursuing the course of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering must make sure that they are eligible enough as per the specified criteria. The course of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering is approved by the AICTE, Government of India. After the completion of this course, the candidates will have various scopes in the several fields like Engineering Product Tester, Product Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Design Engineer, Development Engineer, Building system Engineer, and Chief Mechanical Engineer, etc.

The students who wish to pursue this program have to fulfill the B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering Eligibility criteria to get admission to one of the topmost colleges in India. Furthermore, one can find the eligibility criteria below:-

  • The candidates must have qualified their 12th with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or equivalent AICTE approved 3 years Engineering Diploma in any stream or any higher qualification in science with Physics and Mathematics at the time of admission in Institutes.
  • Candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% in their 12th in PCM or equivalent.
  • For SC categories, a candidate should have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one of the following subjects: (i) Chemistry, (ii) Computer Sc / Information Sc., (iii) Bio-Technology (iv) Biology.
  • Candidates can qualify for the All India Engineering Common Entrance Test (AIE CET) exam for admission in the PM Group of Institutions.

Eligibility for B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering should be fulfilled before going through the admission process. This course is related to the study of the designing, development, construction, testing, and operations of machines to reduce human labor. Mechanical Engineering is well-known for creating technologies to meet a wide range of human needs, basically the main focus is on mechanical and thermal sensors and devices, including tools, engines, and machines.

The candidates, who are interested in pursuing the course of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering must make sure not only to possess the required eligibility criteria but certain skills too. Furthermore, one can find the skills below:-

  • Problem Solving:- Problem-solving is the act of defining a problem, determining the cause of the problem, identifying, prioritizing, and selecting alternatives for a solution, and implementing a solution.
  • Creativity:- Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas, alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems, communicating with others, and entertaining ourselves and others.
  • Communication Skills:- Communication skills are the abilities one uses when giving and receiving different kinds of information. Some examples include communicating new ideas, feelings, or even an update on your project. Communication skills involve listening, speaking, observing, and empathizing.
  • Teamwork:- A teamwork environment promotes an atmosphere that fosters friendship and loyalty. These close-knit relationships motivate employees in parallel and align them to work harder, cooperate and be supportive of one another. Individuals possess diverse talents, weaknesses, communication skills, strengths, and habits.
  • Math Skills:- Mathematical ability is a human construct, which may be defined cognitively or pragmatically, depending on the purpose of definitions. From this perspective, it can be defined as the ability to perform mathematical tasks and to effectively solve given mathematical problems.
